totally agreed. Windows Media Center is a decent example of how collections should be handled. Movie libraries should show a Collection (boxset) poster along with other single movie items at the same level. Click on the Collection and it shows you the 3/4 movie posters within. Even themoviedb.org takes collection in to account with metadata available for collection items.

Yet it has its own very topic on the Features Voting forum. You should put a like there on the first post to make it count.
I'm curious, though. There are feature requests there that have been there for over a year and have 100's of likes. This indicates to me that the customer (US!) want these functions. Few of these issues have been addressed, even, from the Plex Team, saying whether or not they are looking at them.
How do these feature requests factor in to the next upgrades/roll-outs of Plex? When do some of these feature requests, that have been around for so long, start to get implemented? Voting for features and having it sit for so long with no response from the Plex Team is very disappointing. Let us know if this or that is on the way...
I've heard XBMC has this in it, if that's correct and Plex Home Theater is based on XBMC then surely we can add this.
personally I must of posted a good few times on this.
I want to see it as an inline feature like so
PHT might be based on XBMC but Plex is a client/server solution, it's not as easy of just use what XBMC coded. The changes would have to happen in the server as well as all clients.
@drewbie I totally agree, but they do use XBMC code quite heavily (they actually copy over most of it to their project repo https://github.com/plexinc/plex-home-theater-public) and maybe the building blocks are mostly in place. there does need to be server implementation for actually marking which movies belong to which collection/s but looking at the code would give them a good idea of how to proceed and make a lot of folks happy.
This Feature (combined with it's 2 year old progenitor thread) has over 300 likes.. and there are surely hundreds of more users out there that would like to see this happen.
All, if you haven’t already please go to above thread and LIKE the original post to vote this feature up as it’s currently only 13th in the priority features list.
