Combining Photo's and Video's

Hello,

Since camera's in mobile phones are getting better and better, i'm seeing myself taking pictures en video of the same events like vacations, events, theme parks, etc.

What bothers me right now is that you can't combine the taken photo's and video's into one folder and that Plex let you browse through the folder, showing the pictures AND video's.

So i am wondering if more people feel the need to have a new feature that let you combine photo's and video's into one section and that Plex will show both when you browse through the album on your plex client.

Many thanks!

It would complicate things like Slideshow, Play All and would then need for options to be introduced like Play All Photos, Play All Videos, Play Everything

It is annoying that one has to separate media items into separate folders for video and photos but for me i have always done that even before i got to start with Plex. I have always wanted my videos to be managed and viewed separately from the photos. With photos it is easy just play all or slideshow. With home videos it is more complicated as one sometimes may edit, merge short clips together

So for me i would say No - There are so many fundamental features that the Plex Team have yet to find the time to implement

I do understand what you are saying, but still, Plex is build to provide the best media experience possible, so this should (in my opinion) be part of it.

It will make life easier for every user and takes away a lot of hassle for the user itself.

I think the main request is to be able to see and open both photo's and video's if they are in the same map. In that way, you give users the opportunity to copy and show everything in one map and not search and divide both into two separate parts.

Early 2021 clean-up: implemented (introduced w/ PMS v1.1.0)
