At what point does Plex realize that guide information absolutely needs to be correct? It’s so bad now that a week doesn’t go by without either a missed recording an improperly labeled recording or some other catastrophe that causes me to miss the shows that I want to record/watch.
Oh, and hey Plex, Legends of Tomorrow last night had the wrong episode #. It recorded as S5 E5 when it was actually E6.
Telling people to file a report for guide errors after-the-fact seems like a game of “Whack-a-mole” I’ve seen nothing to indicate that guide quality has improved even by 1% from this effort and actually have seen a decrease in quality lately. I sense “off-shore resources” at play here…
I’ve used many computer-based DVR’s over the years and never had other than a very sporadic issue with guide data.
This to me is a bigger issue than any other DVR Issue (and there are many).
While I’m sure the business challenge of providing cost-effective guide data is real, perhaps it’s time to admit you made a mistake by changing providers and go back to what you had before.
+1000 Since the change of EPG provider, it is a disaster. Episode number are wrong or not at all there. (replaced by a random date). It does skip some of the recording even if is a brand new one. It is pointless to open tickets on EPG provider nothing has changed since then.
It is a pitty as previous to that it was working fine, with some hick ups but not as today.
I am using Spanish TV (Spain Madrid, setting in DVR) and it is a disaster.
Since Plex changed their EPG provider a while back, things have been just awful. I miss recording after recording due to this. I wish there was an easy way to enter a different EPG provider in Live TV & DVR settings. Then I would use Schedules Direct for instance, I’d happily pay the additianl subscription fee. But I don’t see an easy way to change the EPG provider
It is beyond ridiculous. At this point, it is more like a VCR than a DVR since it requires so much babysitting. Reporting so many issues is pointless and they don’t seem to be addressed anyways.
