Plex Built-In Comskip Not working

I’ve enabled the built-in Comskip with Plex and noticed it isn’t working. Have others experienced this as well? I’ve rebooted the server and all is working well otherwise.

Also having difficulties locating the location of the logs specifically for this comskip process to further troubleshoot.

Has anyone else experienced problems similar?

Server Version#: Version 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: Version 3.77.4

commercial detection isn’t perfect.

  1. Is the show your looking at the full length of what you recorded? Maybe some commercials were removed but not all.
  2. Is it enabled at the DVR default?
  3. Was the show being recorded using the DVR default or does it say enabled/disabled under the show setting?
  4. Is this happening to all shows or just a specific show or channel?
  5. Have you turned on your Plex debugging and checked the log around the time the show ended?
  1. Is the show your looking at the full length of what you recorded? Maybe some commercials were removed but not all.
It appears as though some channels (mainly the junk sub-channels) are removing the commercials.
  2. Is it enabled at the DVR default?
Its enabled at the DVR default level. I’ve also tried at episode level as well.
  3. Was the show being recorded using the DVR default or does it say enabled/disabled under the show setting?
Its recorded under DVR default, but also have tried manually setting at show level.
  4. Is this happening to all shows or just a specific show or channel?
Seems like it only happens on certain channels at this time, specifically the junk sub-channels. The primary channels like ABC, NBC, FOX, & CBS doesn’t work.
  5. Have you turned on your Plex debugging and checked the log around the time the show ended?
Yes, but I can’t seem to find anything useful. Debugging is turned on. Below is the only reference to comskip. Unsure if someone has any other keywords to search on.

I was able to get some shows to remove commercials after modifying the comskip.ini. The default INI would need to be configured depending on your content provider.
