I can’t believe the amount of commercials and how often they are. I guess someone is very money hungry and doesn’t care about the end user experience. Plex needs to cut back on the commercials and have the show run a little longer between them. It should be called ComPlex, lol. Ridiculous I even have to mention this, whomever’s running this is obviously not using it. Awful experience, I will not be with them much longer if this keeps up, I’m barely using them now, waste of money.
The frequency of ads are contractually prescribed by the content partners. AFAIK, these are similar to the frequency of ads in american TV.
Which to anyone else, living anywhere else, would seem a shockingly, over-the-top, brain-exploding experience. When we see ad supported stuff, PAL Style, we wonder where the ads are.
This is precisely why I setup a Plex server and host my own content many years ago.
We will not do ads, we will not do subscriptions, we will not do “software as a service”.
Full stop.
The volume of the commercials isn’t leveled with the content. Will definitely wake you up if you start to doze during a film.
That’s a ‘Feature’.
So, while Plex promised a 'completely different kind of ‘Ad-Supported Experience’ - turns out it’s just like every other 'Ad-Supported Experience.
Shocking.
