Greetings!
I didn’t know where else to post this but I completed a survey this morning for the new Android app which promised a $20 PayPal after the completed survey. I completed the survey and uploaded the recorded content, but never received the $20 on my PayPal. Just wondering if somebody could tell me when that supposed to show up?
Is there a Plex representative that could chime in?
Although it may be a real survey and a real promise of payment that sounds more like a scam of some kind to try to get PayPal credentials. I have never heard of Plex paying anyone for surveys or any other form of testing.
I would contact PayPal right away and make them aware of this as a possible scam.
Hi. Was it actually a survey, or was it something from usertesting.com that recorded your usage? If the former (survey form), I’m not sure. If the latter (recording), then that was the real deal. You randomly received an invitation because you’d previously volunteered to be contacted to in order to participate in user research. Yes, Plex does user research (hi!).
All participants that complete the study will be compensated as stated, as long as they’ve provided a valid PayPal email address as part of that research. However, it takes time as research is a manual process, and compensation is delivered to everyone at the same time after all the slots are filled. My hope is by the end of next week. Please have patience. Your participation was very much appreciated!
Participants in some - not all - of the research we do are monetarily compensated for their time.
No requests to sign up, please. At some point in the future there’ll be another survey sent out to active users that’ll include an opportunity to volunteer to be contacted. That would be the time to sign up (though, again, not every bit of research involves monetary compensation AND signing up doesn’t guarantee you’ll be randomly selected for the chance to participate in the type of study that does provide compensation - but you probably won’t be if you don’t sign up!).
