I got an email about 2 hours ago from Plex Surveys plexsurveys@decipherinc.com asking me to fill out a survey at https://survey.researchresults.com… Can any Plex employees confirm this is legit?
I received the same email overnight and would like to know if this is legitimate as well.
I received this same email on Monday, November 9, 2020 @ 8:11PM Eastern Time. I would also like to know if this is a legitimate email from Plex.
On the surface everything seems to point to spam/phishing since there is no Plex branding in the email whatsoever, the wording is very generic referring to me as “Dear Respondent” and there are $100 Visa gift cards mentioned, which all screams not legit to me.
Yes, this is a legitimate survey that’s associated with Plex. It’s being performed by a research partner and we’re passing along this feedback to our partner.

BS. I just did the survey and when complete all it did was thank me for my time. No way to put me in a running for any free gift card. DON’T DO THIS SURVEY.

We just had a Plex employee say that it isn’t a scam @chrisc . I would guess that each link in the email has a unique code that identifies who’s filling out the survey. If you finish the survey then you don’t need to give any contact info. That’s at least how I would program it.
It would have been nice if there was a link in the email to Plex.tv that verified the authenticity of the survey.

Maybe it’s age based. Pick above/below a certain age range and it doesn’t ask more.
Tons of questions on mine, and i’m not too far off from you.
As someone who works in high volume email marketing, I would lose my ■■■■ if anyone suggested sending an email to subscribers from a third party address like this. When we email out survey requests they are sent from the same address as the weekly newsletter. No confusion and no sharing of subscriber email addresses with third parties.
