Hello all,I know there is a write up about adding multi dvds into one file for plex to read. .Im burning concerts now and cant figure out how to get it right.I have a Live aid concert and it has 4 dvd’s in a set .Can someone point me to a video or right up to get this right? Thanks
- Rip the 4 DVDs with makemkv.
- Merge the 4 files using this guide [HowTo]: joining multi-part movies files with MKVtoolnix GUI
- apply any compression you see fit, using Handbrake or similar tools
- I recommend you to stay with the MKV format. You can edit the chapter list (which you hopefully preserved when compressing the file) and add names of the songs

Thanks Otto for the tips.Im using Make Mkv and it works great for joining 2 or more Dvds in a set .But does not seem to work for joining interviews or videos with a concert.Ive tried amend files first and then add files neither work.I did not try to get it to work in plex only.I have my concerts seperated from movies with a concert heading under other videos.So I dont knowif it will work.using a folder in a folder in a folder.
I wouldn’t do that. Just join the different parts of the concert into one file.
All those interviews (and other bonus content) I recommend you to add as ‘Local Movie Extras’ as described in my second link.

Would it make a difference if its not under movies.Instead other video?I’m trying to join Rush R30 with 5 interviews and 9 videos.
Yes, it makes a difference. Those ‘local extras’ are only available if you are using the ‘Plex Movie Scanner’ for this library.
Edit this library,
go to the ‘Advanced’ tab,
set the ‘Scanner’ dropdown selector to ‘Plex Movie Scanner’
You might afterwards have to perform the Plex Dance with the affected items, if a simple library update doesn’t work.
