Good day friends,
I just upgraded to PLEX Pass so that I can use PLEX Remote to stream my videos remotely. I am having a very hard time configuring my Linksys WRT54G Router. When PLEX talks about port forwarding, the language in the knowledge base does not match the language in my WRT54G setup screens.
How have you successfully configured your WRT54G router to allow PLEX Remote?
Thank you
Jon
check this website for a guide on how to create a port forwarding on various routers.
https://portforward.com/router.htm
Keep in mind that you can use almost any external (internet-facing) port number, but the internal port number must be always 32400
After you have done that, reboot your router and wait 5 minutes.
Then go in Plex Web to
Settings - Server - Remote Access
and tick the checkbox ‘Manually specify public port’
put the external port number (the one you have used in the router configuration) into the input field behing the check box.
click on ‘Connect.’
**Wait ** 2 Minutes
if you don’t get a green ‘connected’ message, click once on ‘Retry’
wait again 2 minutes
if you still don’t get a connection, reboot your plex server machine
wait 5 minutes before doing anything
If you still don’t get a connection report back with a screen shot
and also with the IP number which you get displayed on this website

in the upper right corner (labeled External IP:)
