I installed Plex Media Server on my desktop for music in my local environment. It has a few libraries and they all work as expected. I can remote control my xbox one plex app using my Iphone plex app. That all works as expected.
However, I recently added a Plex Media Server to my seedbox. It got linked with my account and it is seen as a server / library which is owned by the same user account as my initial desktop server.
Everything works great. I am still able to remote control from my iphone to my xbox and pplay the seedbox library but under one condition - my original desktop plex server must be running. If it is not running, I can still stream the seedbox library, but I cannot remote control the xbox.
My question is, why would my original desktop plex server need to be running in order for me to remote control my xbox one from my iphone to stream from my seedbox plex server? I can’t really understand why that would be the case. As far as I know, there should not be any relationship between remote control of my xbox plex app and whether one of the other plex servers associated with my account is currently On or Off. And Again, when the desktop server is off, I can play the music on the plex server using the Xbox Navigation, I just lose the option to remote control the xbox from my Iphone. When I click the cast button, the Xbox option is no longer available. If I turn my OG desktop plex server back on, the Xbox one shows up again as an option.
I know this is confusing! I hope someone can understand what I am trying to say.
