Connect to unmetered Wi-fi to download

Server Version#: 1.31.0.6654
Player Version#: 9.25.0.2374
Server on Windows 11

Downloads no longer work. At home, always get the error Connect to unmetered Wi-fi to download on the download screen.

Tried:

  • Rebooting
  • Force wireless network to be treated as unmetered
  • Switched from 4g to 5g channel

That rather sounds like a configuration of your Android OS… can you verify the OS network settings or restrictions?

Maybe this will help - How to set Wi-Fi networks as metered or unmetered on Android devices - H2S Media

I forgot to include that as a troubleshooting step. I had done this already.

So nothing? Downloads are just broken for me?

Not sure about what troubleshooting steps you’re referring… from your description you seem to get an Android OS level error message, don’t you?

No, the error is within the Download section of the Plex app telling me to connect to an unmetered wi-fi connection. My wi-fi is not metered and I have set my Android wi-fi options to treat each connection as unmetered.

Would you mind sharing a screenshot of the error message?

Do you get the same issue if you use the app without the VPN active?

It appears that the vpn was causing the issue. I’ve submitted a support ticket to them. Thank you.
