Connecting to Bluetooth speaker while watching loses audio

While watching a stream using the iPhone speakers and then letting the phone connect to a Bluetooth speaker cause the audio to drop. The video remains playing though.

AirPods don’t exhibit this behavior.

I’ve tried with a couple different JBL speakers (Flip 6, Charge 5)
