Hi I am a novice in networking and Plex media server. I installed server on a spare laptop. I have PS4 and a tv. I want to know can I connect the laptop directly to the playstation using ethernet cable and access the media library or do I have to connect the laptop and playstation both to a router ?
Both devices are connected on wifi network but my router is a g router so it does not run smooth.
The playstation app requires an internet connection even when the PMS is local so best to connect both devices to your router. If you can I recommend using a wired network rather than wireless.
