Connection refused to plex running on LAN

Server Version#: 1.18.1.1973
Player Version#: web browser

Hi, this is my first post here so plese excuse me if I don’t explain thing clearly.
I’m running plex server on my NAS, and I can successfuly stream my movies to other devices connected to my wireless that are running linux. I can also succesfully watch my streams from my tablet running Android.

The problem shows up when I try to connect to plex from my windows 10 PC using any web browser. I just get Connection Refused. I tryed many things (including checking the windows firewall) and read many other posts unsuccesfully.

I can ping succesfully plex server from the windows PC, so I think it must have somethig to do with portforwarding on the router.
Here are a few things I tryed on the router:

  • disable and then enable upnp on the rouer
  • disable upnp and add manual port forwarding
All unsuccesfully (as windows is concerned)

I can add that the problem begun after I updated the plex server on my NAS.

Has anyone an idea on what I could try next?

Please tell us which NAS you’re using? Plex runs on several brands. Knowing which one is important so we can give best instructions.

The obvious first question, given you see “Connection refused” is: Does the NAS show it’s running?

Plex runs on freenas.
And as mentioned, i can access the server from all my devices that are not running Windows
