Ok so i would like to take the time out of my day to display all error on the PS3 & PS4 app and there is allot lol.
One issue is when you stop viewing a title and go back it will give you an error occurred
Another issue is when you go to play a title some times it wont load and it will say video did not play in time in this case you
have to retry and to get it to work you have to constantly press the X button for it to play at all!
another problem i have is not being able to have auto-play on episodes like on the pc and media center it has been a while since the release of plex on these consoles and its about time they release an update as i and others are getting sick of these problems.
Another problem is if you lose power and your console shuts off incorrectly you have to reenter the pin!
There should also be an option to search for titles like there is on the xbox!
I feel like allot of the developers at plex like to sit on their ass and reap the rewards
Also another error after the title finishes playing sometimes it will say " There was a problem playing this item an unexpected error occurred downloading the media "
It also happens when you start playing an item sometimes!

matt after the newest server update i would also like to add that they plex app on the ps4 seems to be crashing more frequently like mean after every episode i have been submitting bug reports like crazy.
i would appreciate a response its so content i have stopped using the ps4 app because its out of hand and a waist of my time!
I see you included a lot of feedback in your initial post. There’s a lot of emotional charge to your post as well. I understand you’re frustrated. Keep in mind accusing me and my team of “sitting on our ass” makes me frustrated. There’s not a lot of progress or willingness to communicate that comes from frustration.
The app is in preview mode on a platform with many bugs. We’re working through them. If you would like a more stable experience I recommend our Roku app which just came out of Plex Pass Preview. It’s free and a more pleasant experience than the PlayStation application.

Matt was really nice in his response. However I will not be. Unless you did any code in your life and stayed up until 3am trying to figure out a bug, don’t bother wasting our time with your silly I am entitled to this attitude. I don’t know you and am not being abrasive. But if you don’t like the service then move on, don’t put down people because you have no idea. I am sure they are working their ass off to make you happy, take a number and wait or walk out of the store.
Actually i am a developer lol this app is pissing me off and yes i stay up every-night thank you! I am the owner of domicrotasks.com im not moving on considering i payed for this service mr ape.

I understand i apologize i was trying to spark some Constructive Criticism i expect my members do that with me at Do Micro Tasks.com because members do and i stay up for multiple days working on the problems. As developers as my self i expect people to tell me not to sit on our ass because it sparks a big work load. Thank you for the suggestion! ![]()

same, getting crashes when I try to watch things 2/3 times, it also won’t play the video until i press X on the play button, when it crashes sometimes it gets stuck on a never ending loading screen so i have to restart the console. Finally sometimes when you start the app it says “Something went wrong” and I have to click home for it to reload the app.

I am working on a fix i think i know the problem with these issues once i finish running diagnostics on their server program i will let you guys know the fix and i will also notify plex admins on what to do to fix this problem for users! ![]()

Here is the fix for the press x play issue and meta data problems !
{NOTE: WITHIN THE PS4 AND PS3 APP ENABLE DIRECT PLAY AND DIRECT STREAM }
Step 1:
STOP YOU SERVER FIRST
Step 2 :
Go into your router and / or modem settings and disable UPDP most routers or modems will have this enabled by default the reason you have to do this is they need to build a fix so users will not have to do this!
Step: 3 :
Restart your server than
Go to http://app.plex.tv/web/
and go to server settings than click on the transcoder tab and click show advance and change this number values to this!
Segmented transcoder timeout: 120
Transcoder default duration: 320
Transcoder default throttle buffer: 120
Step 4 :
This last step go into server settings again and click on the agents tab click on shows tab than click TheTVDB tab and enable The Movie Database than click on The Movie Database tab under the shows tab and enable The TVDB enabling this will fix your random media has failed to download meta data!
Finally update your library’s
I HOPE PLEX EMPLOYEES TAKE ON THIS AND TEST THIS STUFF THEM SELVES SO THEY CAN PROVIDE US AN AWESOME UPDATE!

I have a hearing loss and did notice the screaming. But he is sure pushing his luck on the “customer is always right” charm. Must get special ingredients put on his sandwich when he goes out and eats.
