Hi all,
I’m running RasPlex on a RPi2 B, and I’m trying to watch a TV Show, but it constantly stops to buffer. I’m on my local network, the server is on my laptop, which is connected to the network via wifi. The RPi2 is also on wifi, btw.
I’ve been able to watch videos on my android phone using DLNA and I experience no buffering issue.
Is there a problem in the way my Plex server is configured?
Hi,
this can have many reasons. When the basics are okay (Plex Server, a good and fast Wifi connection) there are two things, that are worth to try.
-
Use a powerful USB-Port! Minimum 1Ampere, better 2 Ampere. Use not the standard TV USB Port for USB Sticks. Sometimes there is a special port for HDD USB with more power.

If u have a big Movie Library or a small SD Card in your Raspberry, its possible that your /storage partition run out of Space. You can free up Space by deleting the Thumbnails in /storage/.plexht/userdate/Thumnails
Then reboot the Pi.
According to my experience, this was one of the main reasons, why the Rasplex starts to buffer like hell.
I recommend a SD Card with minimum 16 GB space, to minimize this problem.
