Hi All,
I currently have an unRAID server running PMS in a docker container. My client is an Nvidia Shield Pro. Lately I’ve been having issues where more often than not, newly imported files are not prompting an intro skip. When I’m actively monitoring a newly imported file, I see that intro detection is happening by viewing the dashboard icon in plex web. I’m sure that’s also happening when files are imported using sonarr but for some reason when I play the episode I dont get the option to skip.
When this happens, I usually open up my laptop and analyze the episode in question. I get a split second of activity on the dashboard icon but it definitely didn’t completely analyze the file. After I manually analyze, I can replay the file and it brings up the skip intro button as expected. This has been happening for a while now but it seems to happen way more lately…half the time or more I need to manually trigger an intro detection to get it to show up in my player. Has anyone else experienced this or know how to resolve it? Thanks in advance for your time
Just had it happen again where I anaylzed the episodes…the icon in plex web spins for a split second, definitely didn’t fully scan the file. I replay the episode and intro skip pops up…i can’t be the only one having this issue right?
On your server under Library is “generate intro video markers” set to “as a scheduled task” or “as a scheduled task and when media is added”? For single episodes, the analyzing of intro detection is relatively quick as the analysis happens at the season level so it just needs to look for the same markers as the previous episodes in a season.
Sorry for the delay, must not have subbed to my own topic. Yes, I’m currently set to detect intros as schedule and on add. Some shows get intro detection, but most do not. Sometimes I’ll have 4-5 episodes of shows imported in a day and not a single one will have intro detection working. It’s also as if the intro was detected upon import but for some reason I don’t get the option to use it until I manually analyze the episode. Once I analyze, the dashboard activity wheel will be active for a split second, so quick that it doesnt even make a full rotation. Then if I replay the episode I’ll be able to skip intro right after that. It’s been getting so bad to the point where 80% of my shows won’t get an intro detected.
so, has there been a solution? my intro detection doesn’t work properly either and usually plex just gets stuck on detecting intro unless i reboot the docker.
hey, unfortunately havent found a solution for this. Sounds like you may actually have a different issue…if your system is constantly stuck detectring intros with no progress made, you may want to look into deleting the “codecs” folder in your plex install location. This usually fixes the infinite loop issue you may be having
None of the episodes I’ve added in sometime get the skip intro marker at all. I’m not sure when this startwd happening, but seasons I’ve had added a long time ago do have the skip intro marker, like Attack of the Titans anime do have the marker. I’m running my PMS 1.40.1.8227 (just updated today) on a Qnap. It would be great to have the intros detected correct and added the marker to skip them again.
