Constant not-so-random crashes of PMS

My crashes have been happening for months, but I’ll give the newest install a go right now as I see an update available today.

I’m sorry but I’ve nothing really more to add and you probably need someone from plex to step in. I still see (unfortunately) lots or errors in your logs including but not limited to memory allocation ones and at this point its beyond my experience of plex.

While this is likely not want to want to hear but if this was me I would start over by nuking my server, resetting up my libraries exactly as I had them previously and then I would import my watch status via Move Viewstate/Ratings from One Install to Another | Plex Support

Over to someone from plex at this point.

Mine were happening for more than months. Like nearly 2 years straight. Every newest update and rollback would eventually cause daily crashing. This very newest one I have not had a single crash for about a week now. However, the subtitles for TV recording are incredibly large, but I’ll take that if it means no more crashing. Good-luck.

@tom80H , any further insight from you before I go all scorched Earth on my server as @anon5074910 suggests? Are you aware of a better tool for resource monitor logging that may give me a hint at what exactly is dragging my server kicking and screaming seemingly a the times Plex nopes out?

I would have taken a look at the actual memory usage of the system

Well, again I am never up at the usual 2am when those services are running, which is why I was asking if there was a recommended program that can take either a recording of system metrics I could pour back through later and find any culprits.

Since my last reply, I have done some housekeeping on the services and apps running on the same machine, have moved the Plex scheduled tasks from 2am to 4am, and this morning doubled my ram from 16GB to 32GB. Last night/this morning at 2am, Plex had not crashed, so maybe without the RAM upgrade it would have still been fine, but I am hoping this will be enough to hold off from a machine upgrade for a while longer.

@tom80H and @anon5074910 , thank you both for your help in all of this. Two nights in a row and my Plex still running, so I will be marking this post as resolved. However, a new and strange thing… The service tray icon for Plex Media Server Service still shows “Start Plex” indicating Plex is not running, and when viewing the logs, it appears to show that “Plex Media Server has stopped!” yesterday at 4:30pm, however, Plex has been working fine as evidence by me using it locally on a Roku, locally on a Windows machine, and using Tautulli History, I can see several shared users had watched items remotely during the time after the reported March 1 4:40pm time frame… so that may be something for me to take over to that support area here for that 3rd party program. However, if I share the current logs here, would one of you mind taking one more peak to see if there is any obvious signs of why that PMS Service app thinks Plex stopped/crashed at 4:30 yesterday? Those logs are attached here if so
