Recently moved server & metadata from one windows desktop to another.
Also upgraded to new Plex library agent.
Has been running smoothly for about 1-2 months since the transfer, but recently it just keeps shutting off or crashing.
I have no problems when it is on, It has not crashed while watching anything, seems to shut down when not in use. Maybe at night? maybe during scheduled task idk. Please help
Can someone link another thread if anyone else is having same issue
I’ve had a similar problem. Posted logs but no one responded. 
Same here. Mine crashes while in use but not as often as it does when it’s not. Went through my logs and couldn’t find anything that was causing it, I could just be reading them wrong though.
At this point I’m thinking about just deleting everything and starting fresh. See if that fixes the issue.
I was thinking the same thing but I have a fairly decent size library and dont want to loose all my metadata. Especially the thumbnail scrub thru
Same here. Doesn’t have to sit long before it crashes.
Okay so after I posted, I decided to try and dig deeper into other possible causes and I think I found mine.
I came across this article about repairing a corrupted database.
Unfortunately it didn’t detect any corruption so I just deleted mine after attempting to repair it. So far it’s been three days with no crash of any sort, that’s the good news.
Bad news is I had to set up my libraries again and redo some of the Metadata I had manually done. Small price to pay though. It kept all of my recently added in tact though.
My database file was just over 500MB so it’s easy enough to just backup somewhere else and restore if it doesn’t work for you.
I been having the same issue since mid October and it seemed to have resolved itself for about a week, but the issue returned this past Saturday. It seems to be working well and all of a sudden the Plex desktop becomes sluggish and crashes. I’m at the point where I want to reimage my desktop to see if it will resolve it.
I did try reinstalling/repairing/clean bundles the PMS app, but that seems to temporarily fix it for a short period. Please let me know if any of you find a fix.

Same issue since the last version of PLEX. Running on a Windows 10 with latest OS updates. The serveur crash on it’s own after a short period of times. Very annoying.
Did you setup libraries using the new updated plex agent?
Do any of you guys have scheduled maintenence/ tasks turned off?
I have update all libraries during maintenance disabled under Scheduled Task. Everything else is enabled in this section.
Ok yeah. I did the same. Hopefully a mod will read this thread with a solution soon.
I did for the most part. I switched to the legacy agent to grab all of the Metadata that the new one couldn’t.
Plex literally runs fine when its on… It just shuts off randomly. 
How do I get mods or plex ninja’s to read this thread?!!
I’m having the same issue. Doesn’t crash while in use but it seems like I have to restart PMS every day and sometimes multiple times in a day. Need a fix as this is very frustrating especially when I’m away (on business 
)
Has anyone rebuild their database to see if it will resolve this issue?
how big is your metadata database? cuz mine is like 250gb. I don’t want to start over…
250gb?? Mine was 12gb’s and I have over 46 TB’s of Plex data. I will tell you that after doing this my server has been stable. Chances are something may have been either wrong with the PMS app or Windows profile.
You have 46TB of Media and only 12gb of meta data?? that makes no sense. Do you have thumbnails, chapters, etc enabled??
