Plex Media Server Logs_2021-07-14_19-12-42.zip (5.1 MB)
Server Version#: 1.23.3.4707
I keep my media in a mix of local HDDs and in the google for which I use a 10TB drive connected with google drive for desktop (I know I know rsync is better is some ways meh!! don’t @me) so I can mark stuff offline/online according to my watching needs (mostly in case of limit bans but these have completely gone away)
I recently decided to reshuffle my ‘folder structure’ in the googles and the dreaded constant rescans are back.
After changing things around in google it took about a week (with API limits being hit often yes yes I know rsync again I know I know) and then everything was back to normal for a few days. Winner winner or so I thought.
Now when I add new content Plex is being buggy and going ‘ooo look, we’ve got 1525 new movies scan scan scan scan’
Finishes up.
I add another new movie and Plex goes ‘oooo look we’ve got 1526 new movies scan scan scan scan scan’
Finishes up
Add another new movie and Plex goes ’ oooo look 1527 new movies… I think you get the picture…
I’m getting a lot of ‘Skipping over directory ‘Movie_title_(year)’, as nothing has changed; removing 1 media items from map.’ in the console as well which ahhh yeah duh. nothing changed except for that one new movie silly Plex…
I noticed as well for some movies I have a 1080p and a 4K movie and I keep these in their separate top level folders such as Plex/Movies/Movie_title_(year)/Movie_title_(year)(1080p).m4v and Plex/4k_Movies/Movie_title_(year)/Movie_title_(year)(2160p).m4v
The console is telling me the 4K movie cant be found and cant be skipped.
If I go find that movie in my library, lo and behold it is there, both resolutions show up, both resolutions have their full info from the analysis there, and both resolutions play perfectly.
Anything I can find re the cant be found cant be skipped error relates to not following the naming convention, of which I most certainly do follow the naming conventions.
Am at a bit of a loss on both fronts here. Anyone able to point me where to look in the logs and what I should be looking for?
Cheers all
