I’ve seen many forums talking about the same topic but no solutions for years, or the solution was never posted.
I found an old thread here that was never answered but it’s the exact same issue
Essentially I have to reset my plex server every day or so.
Anyone have an answer?
“”" Was using the android app to watch plex via 4G last night on the smartphone, no problem.
Went to do the same thing this morning, having changed nothing, and the android app on the smartphone couldn’t see my plex server.
So, tried to log in via the web (from a machine not on my network), and again couldn’t see my plex server.
So, tried www.plex.tv from inside my home network, and it worked fine.
Then disconnected the server from within Settings\Server\Connect, and reconnected. All worked, via android and web, after a few minutes.
This tells me the link between my local plex server and www.plex.tv vanished. But the port was still open on the router, because (a) I checked it via 3 different tools, and ( b ) this worked again without me changing anything after I reconnected the server. This strongly suggests a timeout issue within the plex code somewhere.“”“”
