Container is unavailable for analysis having to re-analyse recorded tv

Any updates on this @anon18523487

Any updates? Any news?

The issue is being looked out. No other update.

Is this the same issue:

Yeah, sounds similar. Possibly a race condition where the analyzer isn’t running or running before the file is done recording/post-processing.

Can you make the devs aware of the other post too, please:

Recorded ā€˜Pet Sematary’ (10pm, 2/5/21) yesterday and the ā€˜container’ issue is still present in Plex server 1.22.3.4392

Any news on this? Seems to have gone kind of quiet,

We could ask @anon18523487 again.

Sorry, I have no updates to share.

Just checking on the status. Is anyone working to resolve this issue?

No idea. It’s still an issue though.

This is the main reason I won’t use the DVR. Can’t believe they can’t/won’t make this a priority.

Agreed. What a joke it is that I have to re analyze every show before I watch it or it plays in transcode mode. This has gone on for months and months. Seems like it should be an important thing to get done.

I gave up waiting and just set up a cron job to analyze all of my recordings libraries every few hours. We rarely watch anything recorded within 4 hours, so it’s worked out fine.

Pardon my ignorance but what’s a cron job?

It’s still in our radar. I’m still unable to reproduce this issue. I’m using a Mac running the latest public PMS 1.23.4. HDHR Connect with OTA signals. I tried recording 3 different shows. 1 as-is, 1 with ad-detection only, 1 with commercial removal. All 3 were analyzed correctly when done and all had the container info and played properly. I also have intro detection enabled to scan when files are added. Does anyone have specific steps that can reliably reproduce the problem?

I might be wrong, but I think everyone here having the issue is from Europe? Maybe set a 3 minute buffer either side of recording.

There are no special steps. I have ad marking and intro detection and 3 minute buffer.

I’m from Canada. I’m on Windows 10. No buffers. I always record with commercial detection. Everything I record needs to be manually analyzed before it will direct play.

Are you doing any postprocessing like converting mpeg2 to h.264/h.265? Might need to turn on the scheduled tasks for deep analysis.
