Content is shown in library but NOT after moving to other library

Hello,
i have created a new library in my PMS. An “movie” library.
When i move from my existent “series” library a folder with subfolders and mkv in it, to the newly created movie library
its not shown.

After moving it on the linux server, pms rescans the series library cause it detects the folder moved away and its change.
In my newly created movie library is also a scan running, i can see the rotating circle before folder name…

After that, the content is not shown in the new lirbrary.
Very weird is: when i move the folder back to the source library where it comes from, rescan happens, AND the folder is shown in the library.

i dont changed permissions or anything.

i really dont know where to search in the logs.

any help would be great.

thanks,
marko

Is the “series” library also a Movie library? Or is it a TV Show library? Movie libraries probably won’t find TV shows when scanning.

Did you physically move the folders from one location to another on the hard drive? Is it possible that the permissions changed? If permissions aren’t properly set in Linux, Plex can’t find media files.

Hopefully one or both of those ideas will help.

Correct. Files that follow the TV Show naming style are purposely ignored.

@beckfield @MovieFan.Plex
as described… i dont changed permissions…

OK, lemme ask for my comprehension…
When i have a ROOTfolder, and create in it 2 directories, one with movies , one with tv series…
AND create a Library “Movies” with both directories in it, the library will “only” see the Mvoies and NOT the tv series?

So, is it possible to do a library that can see Movies & TV series? Mabe for an so called “incoming” Folder …

thanks so far, i will test

@beckfield @MovieFan.Plex , UPDATE… seems that “homemvies (homevideos” do the trick
