Content Rating - The active filter has no matches

Hi, maybe this problem is already presented by others people, anyway: I edited all the movies on my library with the Italian content rating (T, VM14, VM18), but others content ratings are still there with no movies. What I have to do to delete tthe filters with no movies? I tried empty trash, clear bundles, restart server but no way

Here the pic that explain what I mean

The unused ratings are supposed to get purged during the server maintenance period within a week or so.

Which scheduled task I have to enable to get ratings purged? I disabled all…which one? thanks a lot!!!

It should do it even without any of those enabled.
However, I recommend you to enable at least ā€˜Optimize database every week’

Thanks a lot

A week has passed…but nothing changed

No way to purge the inactive filter? I may have to recrate the library?

Could you verify your database is not damaged?

  1. activate debug logging (not ā€˜verbose’!)
  2. quit Plex Server
  3. wait 1 minute
  4. start Plex Server
  5. wait 5 minutes
  6. fetch log files and attach them here

Or inspect them yourself. Take a look at the Plex Media Server.log file and seek for messages about database corrupt or malformed.
If you find these, you may have to repair your database.

Plex Media Server.log (786.6 KB)

The device (i.e. the plex server) was not rebooted before the logs where fetched.
Sorry, I cannot see anything in this log.

I can however see a slew of error messages like this one:
Nov 07, 2018 20:18:59.421 [23037] ERROR - Failed to remove watch for /storage/DISKSTATION/Film05/Film T-Z/V/

Is this NAS device still existant and are those folders and files still there and accessible for the Shield device?

Yes. The Files are on Synology Ds214play…a cool nas but slow
Why?

Apparently the plex server has some difficulty to access these files. Notice the word ERROR in the log message. And it repeats many, many times for a whole lot of folders.

I’d go through the properties of all your Plex libraries.
Edit your library,
go to the ā€˜Add Folders’ tab
and verify that that each of the folder paths in there is

  • valid
  • still existant
  • still accessible from the Shield device
  • not completely empty

If you find any paths which don’t fulfill all of the above criteria, remove them from the library.

Thanks a lot. But apparently all the paths are available. The server, as you can see, is on the nvidia shield, and the nas are mounted on the shield. Maybe the paths are to long?

I don’t think so. Paths being ā€œtoo longā€ is a ā€œspecialtyā€ of Windows, not of Android.

Please reboot the Shield and let it sit for a few minutes. Then fetch log files and post the whole ZIP archive, please.

Sorry for my late replay

I did what you asked and the file is attached. Thanks for your timePlex Media Server Logs_2018-11-09_09-05-05.zip (5.2 MB)

It appears you are demanding a lot from your little Shield.
How many media items are on your NAS? From what I’ve seen, it must be, alone for movies, 1000 items.

The reason why I say that, is this error message.
Nov 09, 2018 09:04:48.389 [5278] ERROR - Failed to begin transaction (../Library/MetadataCollection.cpp:173) (tries=10): Cannot begin transaction. database is locked
Which I saw appear several times in your log files, within the time span of less than a minute.
It usually means: the database is so heavily used that some processes are beginning to fail because they don’t get an answer within a certain time.
You might wanna think about switching to a real computer as your server.

Thanks a lot

I’ve chosen Nvidia Shield Server for 2 reasons

1 because the server is always available while shiled is in stand by. Is possible the same thing with a pc server?
2 bacause it works for transcoding, while synology Nas is not enough powerfull to do it

Some people have managed to do it, but it is difficult to set up and cannot be guaranteed to work with all use cases or computers.
