Content Ratings not parsed correctly

The content ratings that are coming back for shows are showing up as “TVY, TVG, TVPG” etc. rather than what Plex expects which is “TV-Y”, “TV-G”, “TV-PG”. The issue is that for my kids accounts that have content ratings controls, they cannot watch shows that are rated without the dash (TVY) vs with the dash (TV-Y), because PMS doesn’t recognize the rating.

Plex team - Can you modify the ratings check to account for with or without the “-” dash in the rating?

Anyone else have this same issue and ideas for a workaround?

Still looking for some feedback and help on this. Is there any other way to engage Plex technical support teams?

Just checked and still having this issue. Annoying, because anytime I record a new show I have to manually go and change the rating because the dash, e.g. TV-PG isn’t added automatically.

If you switch to the new Plex beta TV agent, the correct ratings will appear. The problem with this is that the agent is limited in what is in the database. Things like the local news and Celebrity Family Feud have no search results.

I’m having the same issue with an HDHomeRun Connect on server version 1.22.1.4228. Dayton area on PBS channels 14/16 are recording as “TVY” instead of “TV-Y”, and Plex is filtering out those shows for child accounts.
