Hi there,
I’ve a Plex server since a long time, I’m not using trakt plugin, but recently, because I got fiber at home, I’ve open movies & series libraries on my Plex server to my parents (previsouly, only music because of bandwidth). They connect back to my home via VPN.
Thing is now: even with their separate accounts, I’m seeing all of their “continue watching” on mine. Wich can be quite annoying… I hope series seasons and stuff are also not impacted.
Is there any option that manage that somewhere or is it a bug?
Thanks in advance
Are they managed users (manually created) or do they have their own Plex accounts? Do you have Plex Home enabled and are these users in the Plex Home?
I don’t have this happening with my CW, I have users I’m sharing with and have Plex Home enabled with some of them in it - but they all have their own Plex accounts. I have no manually created users. I found this would sometimes happen in certain circumstances when I had manually created users.
By my parents I’m wondering if I will not put them behind a VPN tunnel, so all their devices will have access to the server, not only the computers… I switched them to friends for now, I’ll go there and test to see!
Thanks for you help, at least I found which options I should be playing with…
I am also having this issue but my setup is different. I switched from a dedicated linux installation to plex in docker on unraid. in doing so, my system went up one release to Version 1.22.3.4392.
I have 4 managed user profiles and each of them can see the continue watching and watched state of all of the content collectively. It is like profile preferences are not recorded or respected.
This is pretty annoying as it doesn’t matter which profile is logged in anymore - defeating the usefulness of profiles.
