Continue watching feature not available in 2nd new tv library

I’ve created separate movie and TV libraries. They’re separate from the “main” ones that I initially created.

The continue watching is present in the new movie library, but not the new tv library. I made sure that the settings for the new libraries (movie and tv) were identical to the original libraries. So, it makes no sense to me why this is happening. Do you not get all the features when creating a 2nd tv libraries?

Btw, I’ve recent started using a Synology NAS (less than a month), but it was the same when I used my iMac.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks

Specifically check if Visibility on the Advanced tab of your library settings is set to Include in home screen and global search (see ... > Manage Library > Edit...).

continue watching won’t show unless there is something partially watched

I know. That’s one of the first things I tried. Still didn’t show up. “On deck” is there with several shows I’ve started, but not “continue watching”.

Good catch. It wasn’t on that setting. It was on “Exclude from home screen” for the new tv library".

But, the new movie library is also on “Exclude from home screen”. And, as I said, continue watching is working there.

So if you go to the recommended tab when in that library and there an episode partially watched in the library, continue watching is not there on that tab?

Correct. It is not there. And it’s like that for every device I’ve tried (Roku, Shield, Fire and my Mac).

Also, on these various devices, I’ve tried the “manage hub” option. Continue watching is not even on the list for the new tv library. It is for the new movie library. Just don’t understand it at all.

what do you have set for the servers library setting Weeks to consider for On Deck and Continue Watching

Would you mind taking a screenshot of your TV libraries recommeded tab with something partially watched in on Deck and zoom the page out enough to at get as many hubs to show as possible. The Recommeded tab has no settings and continue watching should always be there (assuming something partially watched). I just want to show some folks to ask how it is possible.

and just in case - Continue Watching under Recommended - isn’t at the top - you have to scroll down to see it and if you add it to home it won’t be at the top - until you move it.

Gets me every time…

funny. I always move my continue watching to the bottom. it’s where movies i didn’t care enough to finish go to die.

I’m primarily using the Roku.

I can remove CW from home, then go to Recommended in Movies, add it back to home, but Select to ONLY add CW from Movies, not Shows.

Then I have a Movies On Deck, kinda, with TV On Deck right below it and I can see what’s in progress via the orange bar. I leave a lot of Movies in Progress.

I sure hope that comes to the rest of the Plexiverse 'cause that’s way cool.

This is the case for the new movie library, but not for the new TV library

weeks to considered is set at 16. It was never been changed, so I assume that is the default.

Sorry. to ask maybe silly question but you mentioned these are new libraries. is it showing for your older TV library?

yes, CW is functioning with the original (1st established) tv library.

Well I know there was talk of removing it for TV since it pretty much mimics On Deck but it was not removed intentionally AFAIK so I am going to guess something wacky going on with database. Have you tried optimizing DB. that can have an effect on the hubs

If optimizing does not work. If you open the web app in two different windows/tabs. in one tab go to the server console and filter on HubCache then in the other window go to the tv library recommended tab and let it load.

then the console fo the server logs should be filtered on all the hubs loading like my image. the CW hub for the tv library line would start with HubCache: Retrieving '1/tv.inprogress

see if there is any errors there.

Hi, Do you know how to move Continue Watching to the top under recommended?

Thanks

You can’t move them on the individual library recommended screen, only on the home screen.
