Every time I go into Plex lately, whether it’s on my Roku, Shield, or Web clients, the Continue Watching section is gone about 80% of the time. I can usually get it back by going down to the TV section, letting it load shows, then going back up. Sometimes I have to do this 2 or 3 times before it shows back up. After playing something, it’s often gone again and I have to repeat that to get it back. What is happening, and how can I get it to stop doing this?
When I first go into my client (this is a Shield Pro)
it is likely excessive ‘slow queries’ or possibly other related database issues.
if you have very large libraries, and/or older/slower server hardware, then there are some queries that pms is using that can take a long time to process and return results.
hopefully this will be resolved or improved in upcoming 1.40.2+ versions.
but in the future, exact hardware specifics (cpu/ram/etc), if plex database is on ssd or hdd, if running virtualized in some manner, and server logs that capture during a time where the problem recently occured (and about what time you experienced the problem).
This is still happening multiple times per day. Almost every time I finish watching something and it goes back to the main “Home” screen, the Continue Watching is missing.
