This issue for me has existed over several versions and OS platforms but I’ve never posted about it.
I watch a movie or show, play to to the end, through all the credits to literally the very end of the file. Then I click back to return to the library and there is the movie/show I just watched in the “Continue Watching” with a progress bar showing about 99% watched and I have to go in and mark the item as played manually…
…EVERY F’N TIME!!!

So, it happened again while we were on vacation. I have a collection of Pixar Shorts for the kids. They were sitting and watching through them and were just letting the collection play one after the other, now several of them are shown as “keep watching” and unfinished despite watching them all to the end and letting the next one play automatically.
Sorry I didn’t get this sooner we went on vacation and have been remote so I couldn’t grab logs easily.

I’ve had the same problem too though not in the last 24h. I was about to post this separately:
I suspect this is part of the bug where Plex fails to identify the end of a video and plays from the start again with a black screen but I could easily be wrong.
To replicate the issue I watch an episode of a show and stopped at the end, the progress bar shows all the way across but the episode is not marked as watched. If I look on Plex web or any player the episode is then added to the continue watching list. If I then try to watch the episode I am prompted to resume playing from 1 second before the end of the episode.
I always thought Plex had some kind of 99% rule so if you stop a film or tv show during the credits it would be considered watched so I’m inclined to think that this is another example of Plex not being able to detect the end of a piece of media or is prevented from behaving normally when the end is reached.
Could this be anything to do with the skip intro feature? Is marking a skip point confusing the interpretation of the end point?
The frustrating thing is I cannot replicate this with all media all the time, even the same video marked unwatched and played a second time doesn’t have the same issue.
