Is there a way of syncing watch status across servers, especially if they’re shared?

For example, I wanted to watch The King of Queens on my own server, but it wouldn’t play a particular episode (corrupted file), so I searched for it on a friends server, watched it, so had two different ‘threads’ going, then theirs didn’t work so found it on another, and then I now have three entries in Continue Watching for the same show.

Is there any way to ‘fix’ this? It’d be great if somehow these synced, or when you go to watch an episode (not show as sometimes it does do this), it pops up and asks which server you want to watch it from if their are multiples.

This should be doable by going to settings (the wrench icon) from the local hosted web UI (or https://app.plex.tv) and on the account setting page, scroll down to the bottom and enable this settings:

Note, you might want to take a look at the setting directly above that one will have an impact on your activity being shared with your friends (some people do not want that and other do not care, so just a FYI if you were not aware).

Side note: this will only work if all servers and libraries are already using the modern Plex metadata agents. Libraries which still use “Legacy” agents will not work.
