Continuing Metadata not updating even after forcing refreshes . . .

Server Version#: 1.25.1.5286
Player Version#: 4.66.1

I am having a continuing issue where metadata is not updating. I force and refresh and noting is changes. I check themoviedb.org trakt and the TVDB websites and there is info all the current episodes for what ever Show I have a problem with. I don’t like having to cut and past the info for each episode in order to resolve the data issues. I also use plextraktsync and the script skips the episodes that don’t have data.

I don’t like having to do the plex dance or manually enter data that should be entered automatically especially since I am using the newer plex tv scanner.

Any Idea how to resolve this?

Edit your library.
On the “Advanced” tab, make sure that “Prefer local metadata” is NOT checked.

Also, keep in mind that the new scanner uses the episode ordering of TheMovieDB.org by default.
If you are adding an episode which doesn’t exist on TheMovieDB, it won’t get metadata until you set the “episode ordering” for this particular show (or the whole library) to TheTVDB.

Thank you for the response OttoKerner!

I can tell you that “Prefer local metadata” is NOT checked and “episode ordering” is set to TheTVDB

I Did forget to mention that if I do a Fix match and select the same show that was already used (especially when there is only one choice) this helps but that same show may start having the issue again later usually in the next season.

Did you let Plex Refresh Metadata of the whole library, after you changed the metadata agent?

The metadata agent has been set that way since the new scanner was available.

And I usually due a whole library scan when I see there are multiple shows with data missing issues.

Library scan is not a Metadata refresh.
