Is this possible? So used to starting media remotely on the MacMini (for the kids) via the PlexApp.
I don't think that anybody looked into it. aTV comes with a remote... doesn't it? :-D
Unfortunately, it isn't feasible to control PlexConnect remotely from a technical standpoint. It would, however, be possible for Plex to list AirPlay devices as remote video targets in other clients ("trampoline server" functionality), and it's a feature the dev team has looked into to some extent (though I'm not sure if it's being actively worked on at the moment).

It does, but thats of no use when its Saturday morning, the kids are running riot and you can remotely start a movie/cartoon to stop the mayhem from the comfort of your bed.
How do you turn on the TV?
The funny thing is that if you were using home sharing and iTunes you could use the Remote App to do this (once the TV is on of course).
