Whenever I try to play a video from my seedbox, I get the error, “Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install.” Has anyone ever had this issue before?
If you’re running a version of PMS below 1.5.5, it won’t work. 1.5.5 was a mandatory update for that reason.
I’ve recently been having this same problem since upgrading to 1.7.2.3878, attached are the log files.

Check the machine’s IP settings paying particular attention to the gateway (router’s) address.

Thanks @ChuckPA that seems to have resolved it!!
I have the same problem but with error code 28 … so the connection timed out. I can download the codec to the server manually.
There was a partial outtage of Plex.tv today.
Please look in your logs and see, if you can, what you were about to play (if you can’t remember) then go to the Codecs directory, delete the codecs which match (it’s a fairly obvious fragment of the name). Optimize the DB (just to be 100% certain it’s not a PMS -> CodecManager timeout, Then restart PMS, Analyze the media item again. Play the movie and let the codec download fresh
