Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install.

This seems to be a common thread but I have not found a fix for it that works. I have attached the logs in hope that someone can help. I have been using Plex for several years and no problems until here recently just a few days ago.

I have removed PMS from my server, deleted all appdata folders associated with Plex, and deleted all registry keys associated with Plex.

Installed a fresh Server Version#:1.15.4.993 and I am stil getting the same error, mostly on mkv files.

Any help would be appreciated

HTTP error 429 Too Many Requests. Usually have to shut your server down for 8 hours and wait for the lockout to expire.

What is going on with your network? Any VPN, reverse proxy?

Nothing that I know of. I had a VPN Client installed but not running. No reverse proxy. I did uninstall the VPN Client to try again. While I was uninstalling that I uninstalled Malware Bytes as I read that could cause issues. Once again I uninstalled Plex, deleted appdata and registry keys.

Rebooted. Installed Plex. Still getting same issue. Mostly with mkv files. I have attached the latest logs if they help… Again thanks for the help and any future help I may get in resolving this.

Solution:

Reinstalled VPN Client and set connection to different country. Tried playing .mkv file and PMS was able to download codec and play movie.
