sa2000, many thanks for including me in the development build test. I optimized 3 new 4K movies with TrueHD audio today and all worked flawlessly! Great work!
Hi,
I’ve been having sync transcode errors for TrueHD for months and just stumbled on this string.
My Plex Server runs a library of over 5000 rips.
Can I get the dev release?
I’m running on 2008 R2 with 8 core and 12gb mem.
need to see server log with transcode failure due to memory allocation failure
But at the end of the day, this problem did appear with the latest update, nothing chanced just the server version.
Why is it, that something is released without being properly checket?
I pay for this, and frankly, i find the system quite unstable.
Is this the error?
Aug 05, 2018 08:42:19.640 [3352] ERROR - [Transcoder] [truehd_eae @ 03edb080] error reading output

Yes that does show the transcoder failing to get memory. I will include you in the testing for the development build
Thanks for all you do. I don’t think people realize how much is involved with Plex.

I have this same issue. I’m not necessarily asking to be included in the development build, I’m just curious when this will make it to a production release?
The sooner I get positive feedback from the other users as well the sooner it starts to make its way through the stages towards going out in a release.
The release seems to work for me!
I ran a total of 5 tests. 4 succesfull. One stopped loading at 1h playtime, but i think that was an unrelated issue.
Tried different 4k movies. all seem to work so far
Thanks for the update
Any way you can send me a copy of the developer build? Having a TrueHD transcoding error as well when I attempt to optimize movie files. Attached are my logs.Plex Media Server Logs_2018-08-07_11-32-01.zip (2.7 MB)
There is no indication of a memory allocation failure. I will make the build available - please do let me have fresh logs if the problem remains. I would not mind seeing logs of it working ok if it does fix the problem - prefereably with same conversion for
"D:\Convert\Austin Powers - International Man of Mystery (1997).mkv"
Some one on a thread i made pointed me here since I am having the same issues. [True HD audio codec crashes plex] (Thank you @shark2k for pointing me here.) I am not a plex log reading expert by any means but it does look to be the same error. (you can see the error on the other post more) I will include a small section here.
If this dev build is the fix I would love to get in on it as I have run many tests on my memory and all come back clean. Or at least confirm it is not my issue.
EDIT: Running the latest version of PLEX as of writing this ( 1.13.5.5291) on windows server 2012R2

I have added you to the set of users testing out the development build
@sa2000 Could you also add me to the development build? Thanks!
Let me see server logs for the issue. If you already have a post with the logs attached, please give me a link
This is the post I submitted with logs: Optimizing 4k titles causes Plex to freeze - TrueHD audio the problem? - #20 by Al_Rayray
can’t see any logs. Please give me link to the actual post that has the logs. But do check first that the logs zip did get attached

I have the same issue trying to create an optimized version of a 4K HEVC video with TrueHD audio. It would be cool if I could be added to the development build as well.
I also see the Plex transcoder memory usage slowly continuing to climb.
