This crash happens on multiple titles from both 1080p and 4K collections. It appears to be the audio track that is causing the crash, and always 15-5 minutes from the end of the show. Happens with AAC 7.1 and HE-AAC 5.1 sound tracks. And it is repeatable on the same media. i.e. I don’t have to watch it from start to finish, I can jump forward to the offending time stamp and it will crash at the same place using the Roku Player. Using the Web Player in a browser doesn’t seem to crash.
This behavior started 2-3 PMS upgrades back.
I found a nice article from someone else at Conversion failed. the transcoder process crashed - #2 by razzlero which describes very similar behavior,
I am running an AMD FX8120 CPU on my Linux PMS system. I view not accomodating an AMD FX8120 CPU as a software issue, not a hardware “problem”, if this is the issue.
