“Conversion failed. Transcoder exited due to an error.” Windows 10, Web Player, Vizio and Android TV

With the subtitles enabled I get the Conversion failed message on several videos. I tried disabling the subtitles and that allows the videos play for a few seconds before I get the same Conversion Failed error. When I try to go to the troubleshooting section, I get a “Server Settings are Unavailable” message, so I have to manually copy the server log files into a zip file. I even tried playing files that I’ve already watched and got the same results.

For some reason the same files work fine on my Android phone, with the subtitles enabled. I have no idea what is going on.

I found the solution. There was a problem with Plex Server working with my VPN service (Private Internet Access). I removed the VPN from the computer with Plex Server and this resolved the problem.

I’m EXTREMELY disappointed that NO ONE contacted me from customer support with any questions or solutions for this.
