The title message is the error I am getting when trying the convert function in Plex server.
Plex is runing on Ubuntu, which is some kind of Linux flavor. Version is 20 something.
I have seen threads related to that already, but I cannot understand any of them. They seem to be written in a language that elude me, I only understand french and english.
Is there a guide somewhere written in plain english or french that I could follow to enable that function?

Does the user plex have permissions to write to the media directory where the converted file should end up?
Yes, the optimize function.
I don’t know about permission. If I right click on the folder and go to properties, then permission, I don’t see Plex in the dropdown where it says group. Other than that, I would not know where to check for such things.
Somehow I fixed it. Found a window somewhere where some permissions could be changed, none of which seemingly having anything to do with Plex, but changing some of them seemed to have resolved the issue.
Do not ask me where or which ones, I’m pretty certain I wouldn’t be able to find this again even if my life depended on it.
