Copying (not migrating) Plex to other server

My main Plex server has a lifetime Plex pass. I am creating a secondary machine, on which I will install both Plex server (w/out Plex pass) and UMS, for purposes of experimentation and comparison. I will copy over all my movie, video, and music files, but want to copy ONLY the metadata for those files from the main Plex server to the secondary one. I especially don’t want to lose any metadata changes I’ve made to my music files.

In my case, C:\users\xxx\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server contains the subdirectories and files that would normally be copied over when migrating to a new server. But I’m not migrating in the true sense of the word.

Is it safe to copy over only the Metadata and maybe Media subdirectories? What else is necessary?

My apologies if this has already been answered but I didn’t see it.

I did see this:
Creating a clean CLONE of a Plex Server on Windows 10
Is it still accurate and meaningful?

My question would be why? Using https://support.plex.tv/articles/201370363-move-an-install-to-another-system/ except the part about the registry should be enough.

Well, you could do that. But all the server settings which are stored in the registry will need to be made by hand on the second server.
