I have a PLEX “Home” account with an Asustor Server (NAS I) and a PLEX “Family & Friends” account with a Synology (NAS II), just two completely separate accounts with two separated servers.
I had been adding thousands of video files during the years, whatever I did in the (NAS I), I did it to the (NAS II) at the same time. Both (NAS I) and (NAS II) are identical, all verified and corrected, some even have a customized poster or writing descriptions. Basically two separated identical Plex servers and accounts.
I decided to change my Asustor (NAS I) for another Synology (NAS III). Keeping the (NAS I) server as a backup, on my “home” account, I set up the new Synology server as (NAS III) and have all the video files, just like the other NAS.
Now I can open my “home” PLEX account and see the (NAS I) and the (NAS III), so far perfect.
After the video file scanning on the (NAS III), everything is there, but like the original metadata option. Many, especially the home videos, does not have the poster pictures or the description data. To go on each file and fix it, that’s a lot of work.
How do I basically clone the metadata from one of the other two servers?
I tried to copy different main files from the other servers, but it gives me errors when trying to run the new server. I did try copy the Metadata and the Media folders, but did not do any better. If I copy the Preference File or some others folders, it wont run. I wish by just simply duplicate a file, I can be able to keep all the same look setup and data.
I would appreciate any ideas, thanks.
