Core component error

Server Version#:4.147.1
Player Version#:1.42.1.10054
Have setup a lenovo thinkcentre with the latest ubuntu version. Have setup filesharing with my pc which works just fine, ethernet works just fine connecting to the internet, however when i try to setup new libraries, it can’t see the new directories I’ve made, or the media files inside them. I’m also having issues where remote access randomly deactivates after refreshing the browser connection.

Im having the same issue, it keeps running setup webpage.

For the remote access deactivation I have found that setting it to manual and putting in the same IP it normally uses (I think 32400) seems to resolve it.

I am having the same core component issue, however, after just installing it on a laptop I have used as a server before with beefy enough stats to run it. I have run server on much less. Not sure what the deal is.

Also, I forgot to mention: did you forward the ports on your router for plex server?

image

yes port is forwarded and plex sees it working.

I have it port forwarding through my router yes. On my personal desktop I have another server, one I was trying to move to the external. That one says its not sharing with the internet… but I have a friend in another state who’s capable of accessing it.

same, just after upgrade the server is throwing this page … i next→next→next through it and it clears up … refresh browser and its back … apps / tv work fine … user other browser … same issue.

Does anyone know why my plex isn’t working anymore? I completely removed my old server/plex files and downloaded again, but now I keep getting the ‘core components’ disclaimer

Side note: don’t forward UDP packets.
Only TCP.

Facing the same with, With same installer from App Center, was working fine earlier

I’m also having this on multiple platforms. The latest version of the server was released yesterday so I’m now wondering whether there’s an issue with the latest version?

ok so I just installed the version before the current version and it’s working.

I found that someone has archived them all here

Same issue here. Trying to run the server from my Ugreen NAS through docker. It randomly worked once today without me knowing how. After changing drives and storage pool it wont work again.

Its driving me mad.

I refuse to update my server and apps until the dust settles on the new experience rollout. There’s too much internal firefighting happening and things like this are usually the result.

All, we are aware and are looking into the multiple reports of this issue. Thank you for the feedback here.

I have a few questions as I am unable to replicate, so anyone experiencing this that can provide more information would be helpful:

  • what URL are you experiencing this issue against? Localhost? specific ip address? app.plex.tv?
  • we have a few screenshots of the error message itself, but it is unclear from the reports what other actions are available. Is this error clearable? Are there other actions that can be taken once it is cleared? Are all left-nav functions blocked due to the error?

Thank you all again. We will provide an update as soon as we have more information.

I was literally reading these threads while I was doing an update.

WHEW, that was close!

as this thread has multiple people in it, here is a post I just replied in another thread on this topic. I will caution that these results are still preliminary, but progress is being made:

yes - can bypass, but when logging in again later, the setup is restarted.

It’s unclear to me if everyone is experiencing the same issue, but here’s my details:

  • Ubuntu 24.04
  • Installing and running plex media server via Snap after reinstalling Ubuntu (so it should be completely fresh, no lingering system files from previous install)
  • I get the Core component error (screenshot)

I’m getting the same core component error. Brand new installation on Debian Trixie. The error appears just after putting in username and password.
