Problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server.

hi
just did a clean install of windows 7, installed plex and got the following error “problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server.”

Attached is the log - I couldn’t see an obvious issue - can anyone spot it?

This arises if the system agents do not start in time

Could you get zip of the folder
C:\Users\anthony\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Logs\PMS Plugin Logs

Is the problem repeatable ? I suspect it is a timing issue and the first launch may be taking longer to setup the environment. If you restart you may find that the error does not arise

If the error is repeatable i would like to establish at what time the error is displayed - so that it can be compared to what is in the server log files.

its not repeatable - seems to be fine on restart - attached are the logs as requested. Server seems to be ok, I have an issue with transcoding but will pick that up in a parallel thread

Thanks - it was as i suspected - a timing issue appears to be more likely to occur on first launch. I have flagged it to the development team

Please help, PMS will not allow me to add content to library and access channels.

There are a lot of issues showing up in the logs

Could you tell me what you did at 10:10 am on 3rd September
The server was running version 1.1.3 from 17:22 on 2nd September till 10:10 am next morning.
At 10:10:12 am you stopped the Plex Media Server and immediately re-launched it? Yourself ? script?
And on restart at 10:10:36 am it installed a new Plex Media Server database - Intrigued as to how the database file disappeared in the 24 seconds. And how it actually re-launched immediately after exiting? manually by you ?

I would like to understand what was happening here

Now the other things that were wrong

You have some old bundles ? Did you copy them there yourself ? Are they residual from an old version - last time these were used by Plex Media Server was before version 0.9.12.4 !

Sep 03, 2016 10:35:33.033 [6824] WARN - Couldn't determine bundle identifier for plug-in at: C:\Users\bensa.SALLEMI-PC\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-ins\Frameworks.bundle

There is also an issue with this corrupt bundle

Sep 03, 2016 10:35:33.036 [6824] WARN - Couldn't determine bundle identifier for plug-in at: C:\Users\bensa.SALLEMI-PC\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-ins\LegendasTV.bundle

and what were you doing here? Where did you get the advise to enter the word IP and a double-quote and the mask in the List of IP Addresses and Networks not required to auth

Sep 03, 2016 10:59:41.142 [12132] DEBUG - Request: [127.0.0.1:52397 (Loopback)] PUT /:/prefs?allowedNetworks=IP%22%2F255.255.255.255 (4 live) GZIP Signed-in

Sep 03, 2016 10:59:41.142 [12132] DEBUG - Auth: authenticated user 1 as bensal
Sep 03, 2016 10:59:41.143 [12132] DEBUG - Auth: Came in with a super-token, authorization succeeded.

So you typed in IP"/255.255.255.255
What IP were you trying to allow through?
Is this because you did not know what the term IP Address means ?

Later on you changed this an IP Address and a Port number - why ? Where did this advice come from ?

Sep 03, 2016 11:09:11.815 [13196] DEBUG - Request: [127.0.0.1:54285 (Loopback)] PUT /:/prefs?allowedNetworks=192.168.1.128%3A33400 (6 live) GZIP Signed-in

So you typed in 192.168.1.128:33400 here - why?
What are you actually trying to achieve here?

and what more observation / advice - you had two network interfaces active at some point. Please disable one and make sure your run the machine with only one IP Address. It avoids complications

I would suggest you shut down Plex Media Server and start a completely new install with fresh new library and database
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201941078-Uninstall-Plex-Media-Server
If you really need your old setup - you could just delete the plugins folder contents
C:\Users\bensa.SALLEMI-PC\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-ins\
and relaunch Plex Media Server

And please do study the support pages - http://support.plex.tv

I have have completely uninstalled plex per uninstall directions and reinstalled. However, I still cannot get plex to upload a library. With the new installation I have not tried to add any channels. I have attached all logs. Help is greatly appreciated,

Thank you. I can see that this is a new setup for the local app data area with a new database setup on launch

Sep 11, 2016 11:51:37.363 [12456] DEBUG - Installing Library Database from [C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources\com.plexapp.plugins.library.db] to [C:\Users\bensa.SALLEMI-PC\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Databases\com.plexapp.plugins.library.db]

When you deleted all the old folders, did you remember to also delete the following registry area by using Regedit ?
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server

The errors in the com.plexapp.system.log are the type that have always been attributed to security software / proxy / vpn software -

URLError: <urlopen error [Errno 10061] No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it>

Could you tell me what you have running in this area : security software / proxy / vpn

Yes I went in and deletedPlex Media Server in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc. For security software I do have a vpn but in the past I do not run it since it interfered with remote access to Plex from outside my home. I have no proxy set. As far as security for my firewalls and Internet I use web-root secure-anywhere. My firewall is set to allow plex through.

So the registry Plex Media Server area was deleted when you deleted the app data

There is something blocking requests to 127.0.0.1:32400

The first error was this

2016-09-11 11:51:41,739 (39c8) : WARNING (core:541) - Unable to retrieve the machine identifier or server version.

which is returned when processing the response from http://127.0.0.1:32400
You can try it in a browser whilst Plex Media Server process is running but would need a token appended
http://127.0.0.1:32400?X-Plex-Token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
and the token you can find in the Plex Media Server registry area for the current user in field PlexOnlineToken

and can also be seen

I would like you to run without the vpn software installed

Also for firewall, add an exception for tcp port 32400

and if you still have problems, try without web-root secure-anywhere running

I added add an exception for tcp port 32400 and my media began loading into my library. This was the only change that I made however, i wanted to mention that I could not longer find Plex.Inc in my registry not sure if this is going to be a problem later when I to add plugin channels. Tomorrow is another day. Additionally I wanted to say thank you for the support.

I would not expect Plex Media Server to run if it does not write or read the registry entries

The registry area is
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server
Note It is Plex, Inc.

Neither would I perhaps I was in the wrong location

Yesterday I tried to install channels through Webtools and everything was working great. Today my channels although they still appear the channel does not respond. Can you please look at my logs to see if anything changed.
