Host: Asustor AS6104T NAS, ADM 4.x
So, after the stupid password change, lost access. Can not retrieve with any methods. But no issues, I have the media files, I can create another PMS with same or different name, does not matter.
But not. The NAS somewhere else tan the installation directory contains the PMS info from where it - inaccessible one - comes back and prevents to create a new.
Means, from app.plex.tv you can’t see the unclaimed, broken PMS, but from local (opened from the NAS, 127.0.0.1/192.168.0.xxx:32400 it’s there.
For just testing, I’ve created a VM on my notebook with Ubuntu. Installed PMS. Opened the localIP:32400/web, could create new instance, add folders for libraries. Opened app.plex.tv. It was visible, accessible from there, plus the broken Asustor PMS.
Removed both from my account from the Authorized devices/Servers, logged out.
Re-opened localIP:32400/web. there was the newly created and removed VM Ubuntu PMS to be claimed. It worked without issues. Removed again, to create a 2nd new.
Uninstalled VM Ubuntu PMS app, reinstalled VM Ubuntu PMS app, opened localIP:32400/web, could create 2nd VM Ubuntu PMS with different name (for easier iD).
Configured, added libraries, uploaded some sample videos and mp3, to be sample files/folders and folder scan, metadata…etc.
Everything worked, went to app.plex.tv, there was still the broken Asustor PMS and the 2nd VM Ubuntu PMS.
Removed it from Settings, server selected General, remove and from Authorized Device/Servers, then deleted the VM itself.
By going to app.plex.tv, Authorised Devices, the server section not exist (there doesn’t any).
Forgot to mention, logged in on VM Ubuntu PMS localip:32400/we with different Plex account and with that, I had option to claim the removed server which worked then from app.plex.tv., delete/remove and claim with the previous account, etc. But on the actual NAS/VM Ubuntu localIP:32400/web always remained ths removed PMS configuration and could never erased. Not with PMS application removal and reinstallation, so - at least on Linux based NAs/host - something hidden information still stored. I’m looking for that to be able to remove those.
I’ve created screenshots about every step I did: Plex@Asustor
AS6104T - was the original Asustor hosted PMS
pms-VMware… - was the VM Ubuntu hosted 1st test PMS
pms2 - was the VM Ubuntu hosted 2ndt test PMS
So, my question how the hell is managed the PMS application on devices and why it leaves behind some files which prevents the real clean up and start again on same host?
How the hell can someone install new PMS without resetting/re-installing the whole NAS, host just to get PMS application work?

with the recommended next step - if those above not working - to create topic in Community Forum.
