Hi all, forgive a possible repeated query - I did search for similar topics - but ive recently had to reset my Lockerstor admin password. That fine, full access again, but now Ive lost access to my PMS?
If I open the Asustor Plex App, I can see my PMS name in the left pane, but with a triangle and exclamation mark.
If I click Claim server, the [PMS name] General tab opens, and I see 'This server is unclaimed and not secure. I click Claim Server, but nothing happens apart from the button text disappears and then immediately reappears. I can’t claim my own local server?
Ive tried the claimpms.sh script from GitHub, but it throws an error 500.
Ive uninstalled and reinstalled PMS on my NAS, but the issue remains.
Also - it says there is a server update available, but this is the latest Asustor version on the Plex website?
What am I doing wrong, please?
Server Version#: 1.41.0.8930
Player Version#:various devices - primarily 2016 MacBook Pro
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>
Update: ive uninstalled PMS (again) because id installed the beta version and couldn’t reinstall an earlier release.
v1.40.5.8921-836b34c27 installed, same problem, same comment that an update is available. Remote access is off and I can’t sign in to enable it.
Upgrade (again) to the most recent version - the 1.41 beta release, and im back full circle : cannot claim my own local PMS: clicking Claim Server just removes the button and and then immediately replaces it with the same, and im stuck.
After signing out of Plex to then try again from the beginning each time I try to start log in to Plex with my username (email address) and password, it loads, but I see a blue framed error popup ‘There was a problem signing into Plex’
Ive just reset my Plex password, and selected the ‘log out of all sessions’ option.
Cannot help with Asustor specifics. However, this usually indicates a problem with the NAS communicating with plex.tv, which is required for server claiming.
Some things to try:
Use a private/incognito browser window, to make sure any ad blockers, cookie cutters, etc. are not interfering.
Make sure the time & date are correct on the NAS. Synchronize with a public NTP server if possible. If the time is incorrect, then claiming will usually fail. If you change the time/date, then reboot the NAS.
Make sure the NAS has a solid Internet connection.
Configure the NAS to use public DNS servers such as 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare); 8.8.8.8 (Google); or 9.9.9.9 (Quad9).
Perform a “network reset.” Shutdown the router, NAS, and any switches, etc.in between the two. Power on the router and wait for it to full boot. Do the same with other network gear. Finally, restore power to the NAS, wait for it to fully boot, and see if you can login and claim the server.
