Is there a way to see more than 30 albums (the label albums not all releases under different labels ie. compilation/live/whatever else) on the top view of an artist page? I have 34 releases of my own and they all get sorted under Albums despite many being Singles due to well not being popular enough to have official metadata I guess so on the top view I only see 30 of my releases in the list and have to tap to see them all as grid view.
Also is there a way to download a shuffle of a smart playlist? I know you can do it for ie. when selecting the vertical dots on an artist page (Download artist shuffle and you can set a time). If not I would like to formally request this feature Since most of my music listening is pulling from a massive smart playlist and I have limited data. I know the 40 track cache should cover most situations but I’m trying to be as data-conscious as possible.
Oh, and about the 40 track cache… when I have a shuffle pulled from ~19k songs, it will “only” show the next 12 or so in the coming up list… does this mean it is only caching this songs? Or is it still caching the next 40 but coming up just doesn’t let you see that many for some reason?
Behavior is by design (iirc this is to avoid excessive loading times for artist pages).
As for your releases lacking metadata… you can add those to MusicBrainz which is one of the main sources for Plex music metadata. This will allow for proper categorization… just make sure to stick to their styleguide to avoid your additions/changes to be rejected:
It’s basically the same… you can long-press the smart playlist or use the 3-dots icon to access its context menu and download from there. If you want a „shuffled subset“, it might be worth to set the filter of the playlist to sort randomly.
As for the more than 30 slowing things down, Symfonium (what I’m moving over from) showed all albums and never had performance issues. Just a food for thought thing. I know most artists aren’t going to have over 30 entries for one label lol.
As for smart playlist shuffle download, it doesn’t look like it acts the way it does with artist shuffle. With artist shuffle you can tell it to download a set amount of time of a shuffle. With smart playlist it seems to just download in order when you set a time. I guess like you said you could shuffle it then download it. It is just the extra step. But anyway I decided to sign up for way more data, more or less due to wanting to use Plexamp now, so… this isn’t really going to be an issue for me anymore.
And, Track Collection finally showed up in Plexamp mobile. I had seen it in Plexamp on PC. For some reason the mobile version took a few hours to update and add it to the list.
Is there a way to see if an album is already in a collection when I go to add it? I know it seems like I can only remove an album from a collection by being on Plex on PC (though I haven’t checked Plexamp on PC to see if I can do this). If there is a way to remove an album from a collection on Plexamp mobile, please let me know.
