Since the last Server Update nearly all of the covers are gone.
There is only a preview of the movie 
Strangely enough, not all covers have disappeared, some are still there.
Update was Version 1.24.5.5173
“Refresh All Metadata”
That tells Plex to verify the covers it has and make sure they are set to display.
Thanks for the answer, but I already tried that first.
Unfortunately without any success.
Problem solved: Prefer local posters was activated, for whatever reason. After a new scan, all posters were back.
