If you kill the scanner, it will just restart itself. You need to exit PMS to make the scan really stop. The bigger question is what is it scanning. I would kill the scanner, then go delete the scanner log, then wait for the scan to restart and let it run for a few minutes. Grab the scanner log and post it here so we can see what it is doing.
I have it set to scan daily now and the seems to be working. I just checked and, its not scanning. However I cant tell what time it will scan at? I want to be able to tell it to scan at 1:00AM or what ever, a time at not when I an not using, doing backups, etc… Just trying to avoid the 20% CPU usage during the day and when nighttime jobs are running.
would that fall under “Time at which tasks start to run” ?
I guess i can just use “Refresh all libraries during maintenance” and have that do at the time I set. Is Refresh all libraries during maintenance, the same as “Update my library periodically” will it do the same thing, hope you understand where I am going with this and what I am trying to do.
Thanks,
John
