Hey all, I’ve a pretty annoying problem with plex, whoever I try to stream something, Plex Media Server process spikes the CPU use to 100% (with 1 or 2 streams, with 3 streams, it goes to 200%) with no apparently reason. Just to be clear, I’m talking about Plex Media Server process, not Plex Transcoder, and this happen with any type of stream (direct play or transcode).
EDIT: It’s also related to using subs, when I don’t use them, it doesn’t happen.
Edit: After a few more tests, it only seems to happen when using the web player, no matter if I use my own or app.plex.tv.
To get this log, I simply restarted my docker, and did nothing more than start a stream, once the CPU spike happened, I stopped and grab the log.
Example of what happen:
Plex Transcoder is using CPU as it’s intended to use, but Plex Media Server is using just too much of my CPU, 100% for one transcode is just too much.
Server Version: 1.15.3.876 (Lastest Beta, updated today, but this problem was happening on the old Beta build too)
Player Version: So far, Web Player from my own install or app.plex.tv
EDIT: Doing more tests right now, Android doesn’t seems to trigger it, but Web app seems to (both my URL and app.plex.tv), confirmed that using someone else server (shared) on my own URL (WebUI) does not trigger those spikes on my server (but does on the person that host it), Tizen seems fine.
EDIT 7 (?): My google fuu want working earlier, just found this thread that cover the exactly same problem, attached a log there, since I’ll not close this one, I’ll attach it here too:
