It played a mkv file fine until i decided to turn on subtitles. Now it will not play any mkv file. As soon as i try plex server instantly crashes. Any other file types play just fine.
No log file atm. I am updating the server now to see if that helps and if it does it again ill upload a log file
first try to disable hardware acceleration.
if that fixes your issue you can upgrade the Intel graphics driver.
of course that only works if your graphics card is Intel. the driver’s date (in device manager) is of late November this year
there are several posts about this issue, including mine. After I upgraded the driver it was fixed on my machine.
In the latest plex you can also disable hardware encoding whilst leaving decoding enabled. that is supposed to help too, but it was not needed on my system so I did not test this
