MKV's subtitles disrupting video

Goor morning team.
Since last update I have problems while playing videos with subtitles.
I usually play mkv videos with str subtitle file for my vose series.
If I turn off subtitles I don’t have any problem with the video, but if I turn them on the video turns messy and its impossible to watch anything.
The problem is the same both with the web player, the mobile and the Samsung tv’s integrated one.

Do you know if last update broke something?

For english audio series I don’t have any problem but I´m not good enough to play japanese series without subtitles.

P.D. I suposse that it’s not related but at the same time I installed last server updated I upgraded to Vitalician Plex Pass with the christmas offer. Maybe somethig in the new features broke the server?

all apollo lake and gemini lake CPUs as a server will result in this issue. These are pretty common in … well all NAS and Ultra Low Power Servers.

Plex updated to a new ffmpeg version and forgot the Q/A… (and also dont want to revert back to the old version)

You have three options:

1st. delete the iHD driver, then it will not scramble anymore but you’ll have very blocky and absolutely bad transcoding results

2nd. revert back to plex 1.16.

3rd. disable hardware encoding. Will obviously impact your overall NAS performance and limit the amount of simultaneous streams to … one.

The issues with the bad quality do exist since two month, the usage of the iHD driver fixed this but broke the encoder.

We’re waiting for an official reply on this issue.
